A couple of years ago I found myself unemployed and bored. My daily routines were changed and I found myself with a lots of time and little money.

Desperation proceeds bad judgment.

A  diversion was needed.  The social networking phenomena was growing. I jumped in full time with mixed feelings.

Not being able to see someones eyes or watch their body language frustrated me. How can I know what they are trying to convey since so much of communication is non-verbal? Plus, who is this bizarre stranger lurking behind the computer and how much of what they’re telling me is true?

And what can easily be obtained in real life, with a smile and a toss of hair was removed from my social skills set. My own hands were virtually tied.

However, I continued to seek social satisfaction from this common pastime that so many of my real life friends used but never appealed to me.

It sucked me in quick. I soon mastered the art of social networking. The trick is to meet a lot of people and not take any of it too seriously. I was good. A year went by and I was having fun.

Things soon changed (as they often do) and I lost my sense of reality. What I knew was fake and silly a year prior, now, was becoming important.

What the hell was happening?

I saw the change. Got worried — “Glimmers” was born.

If you’ve ever had the feeling that you are sinking into something that’s changing your personality, your values and your sense of well-being then “Glimmers” will be an interesting read.
